The start screen is the first thing you see when you open the game (well, technically it's the NetEase Games logo but well) so…might as well get familiar with it.

As you probably already know, the start screen looks like this. I've edited the screenshot and put English translations.

logout/switch account – clicking this will take you to the user center

切换帐号 qiēhuàn zhànghào – switch account

帐号管理 zhànghào guǎnlǐ – manage account (sometimes this section says 更改密码 change password)

我的信息 wǒ de xìnxī – my info

用户帮助 yònghù bāngzhù – help – you can view FAQs here, and browse help topics

announcement – clicking this will open a window that looks like this

公告 gōnggào ( announcement ) – date is written as xx月xx日=month/day. Usually they post here something like what's new in this update OR maintenance/update schedule.

user agreement

用户协议 yònghù xiéyì (user agreement) – basically these are terms you have to agree to in order to play the game. I doubt that I can translate everything that's written here because the language is prolly super formal–maybe I'll try to…someday lol–so you can use Google translate or Baidu translate (imo Baidu is slightly better at Chinese-English translation than Google) or other tranlastion services of your choice.

scan qr code

You can play the mobile game on your PC (to download the installer, go to qnm.163.com then click 下载桌面版) but you still need your phone because you'll have to sign in on your desktop by scanning a QR code with your phone. Just point your phone at your computer screen and make sure the qr code is within the box.

Click 取消 qǔxiāo to exit

Actually this is more like a page where you can send questions regarding log in, etc. Type in your message in the text field then hit 发送 to send.

In the right side, there's an announcement about 倩女幽魂助手. It's like messenger for the game. You can read/reply to private messages as well as guild chat there. Click 点我下载 (red text) to download.

Can't enter game

What does this mean?

连接服务器失败 liánjiē fúwùqì shībài

请检查你的网络和海外入口状态 qǐng jiǎnchá nǐ de wǎngluò hé hǎiwài rùkǒu zhuàngtài

国内玩家请重新取消勾选海外入口 guónèi wánjiā qǐng chóngxīn qǔxiāo gōuxuǎn hǎiwài rùkǒu

国外玩家请重新勾选海外入口并重新选服务器 guówài wánjiā qǐng chóngxīn gōuxuǎn hǎiwài rùkǒu bìng chóngxīn xuǎn fúwùqì

Failed to join server. Please check your internet connection and overseas entry status. For players living in China, please try unticking the overseas entry (海外入口) box again. For players living outside China, please try ticking the overseas entry box then select your desired server again.

In my experience, the problem is usually with the internet connection so I just turn the data off on my phone, turn it on again then restart the game. If you still can't enter the game and get the same error, you can try contacting your internet service provider.
